Matter Of Pleasure To Neptune Foundation

Neptune Foundation trust by Neptune Group which is being a part of various social activities, is actively involved in the rehabilitation of mentally challenged destitutes also. We pick them from their location when informed to us or when our qualified and trained social workers trace them, after that those mentally challenged people are admitted to Thane Mental Hospital for treatment & once the patients get recovered they are united with their families. We have achieved a great achievement in this work.
One of the important achievements in this reunion by Neptune Group is that the family, neighbors and friends are instilled with faith upon seeing their relative in a much better psychiatric condition, & now they have strong belief that psychiatric problems are treatable. Knowledge is generated & shared, myths about psychiatric problems are broken, & above all hope is kindled. Neptune Foundation by Neptune Group has a core strategy of focusing on grassroots awareness of the treatability of mental disability is the backbone of our functioning.
We have a strong belief that this approach & the propagation of knowledge help reduce the incidence of untreated mental problems and safeguard them from entering hazardous and vulnerable situations in life. We would like to share one of the events: The letter from the endorser of a reunited destitute, who apart from coming forward to help the needy wrote very touching heartwarming words to commend our work.

Neptune Foundation - Rehabilitating The Existence Of Mentally ill

When “I” is replaced by “We” even illness become wellness. Leaving anything like that only is not the solution of any problem . If there is problem there must be some solution for that problem we all need to step forward & this step is forwarded by “Neptune Foundation” 3 Years back only. It was Neptune Foundation who understand this thing that they are not the social stigma for our society. Only the thing is this that inspite of discrimination they need special care & lot of love.Neptune Foundation has been providing psycho- social rehabilitation services since last 3 Years. A study shows that there are more than 1 lakh destitute in Mumbai city alone who are from various parts of India. Who came to Mumbai in search of job but not all are fortunate enough to find one & end up in a life of misery. Once they run out of little money they had begun with, they are deprived of food & many other basic necessities & become vulnerable to difficulties. Such situations can lead to grave psychological complications.

There is a dedicated team to survey at Neptune Foundation. They pick up mentally ill destitutes from the roads. Neptune Foundation reunites the destitute with their families after counselling and treatment. It also conducts therapeutic activities, offers vocational training that helps such people to gain and retain a sense of purpose, and gives them the means to be self-reliant.Till date, Neptune Foundation has helped 55 mentally destitute people, and successfully reunited 33 families. The joy and happiness on their faces is worth the efforts that Neptune Foundation crusaders have put in to reunite these mentally ill destitutes. In the near future, Neptune is planning to set up Free Helpline For Mentally Ill Destitutes for the city of Mumbai.
